The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, often abbreviated as WCAG, are a series of guidelines for improving web accessibility. Siteimprove utilizes WCAG conformance standards to help you identify accessibility issues on your site. These standards are split into three conformance levels: A, AA, and AAA. It is good practice to adhere to these standards to the best of your ability.
The image below is a preview of the Accessibility overview within Siteimprove (Find this in Siteimprove > Accessibility > Accessibility Overview). As you can see, each conformance level is highlighted and has a "score" associated with the level. Your conformance score for each level determines whether you are meeting Accessibility guidelines.
Level A: The minimum level of conformance
Level AA: Moderate conformance level
Level AAA: Highest level of conformance
It is good practice to give priority attention toward Accessibility "Errors". An Accessibility "Warning" indicates potential problems that should be investigated.
Please keep in mind - some of the errors & warnings you will see may show issues that can only be corrected by a web developer.
As a contributor in Cascade, you should have the ability to enhance your site's accessibility for web elements such as images, textual content, and links.
